The Seasonal Sounds of the High Holidays with Cantor Josh Perlman

The prayer services of the High Holidays are enhanced with piyyutim (liturgical poems) and special additions, while other aspects of the liturgy remain unchanged. However, the melodies and tunes are different, and they help to ground us in this season. Join Cantor Josh to hear these different melodies, and how they are used with familiar prayers.

7:30pm	8:30pm		Unetane Tokef: The Israeli Version with Netta Asner-Minster on Zoom This sacred prayer and its melody may be familiar, but you may not know about an Israeli version. In this workshop, Netta Asner-Minster, our congregational shlicha, will share the Israeli version of this prayer and teach about its connection to the Yom Kippur War, and how it has reached contemporary television series, including HBO’s Valley of Tears.
