The Men's Club is offering congregants a chance to safely shred their personal papers, bank statements, and other documents in B'nai Israel's parking lot. A flat fee of $10 will be collected at the event, no matter how much paper you want to shred. Please bring cash or a check made out to Men's Club with you. Proceeds will go to our 2025 legacy fund.

The music may be old, but the artists are new! Come here these new renditions of classic Jewish music, collected by the Milken Archive and presented by Cantor Josh. A musical adventure of historic scope and proportion, the Milken Archive was founded in 1990 to document, preserve, and disseminate the vast body of music that pertains to the American Jewish experience. In the time since, the Milken Archive has become the largest collection of American Jewish music ever assembled—roughly 600 recorded works, more than 500 of them world premieres.

Get ready for the Festival of Lights by crafting your very own menorah and candles.

Come join members of the B'nai Israel Men's Club as we hike along the C&O Canal towpath. Eric Luftman will offer commentary as we walk from the Monocacy Aqueduct, the longest and most intact of 11 aqueducts built along the 184 miles of the canal. Along our route we will visit a canal lock and lockhouse, enjoy sweeping views of the Potomac, pass the retired Dickerson Power Plant and turn back at the wetlands of the Dickerson Conservation Park. We will gather at 1:45 pm at the Monocacy Aqueduct parking area, located at 21115 Mouth of Monocacy Rd. in Dickerson, MD.(As you approach the end of Mouth of Monocacy Rd., take the left fork to the parking area, as opposed to the right fork to the Monocacy boat ramp.) The parking area is 26 miles from B'nai Israel, a 35-40 minute drive. Family and friends are welcome. There is no limitation on numbers, but please contact Eric Luftman at luftmankleinwaks@yahoo.com to let us know that you are coming, so that we can notify you if there are any last minute weather-related changes.

For an ancient text intended to set boundaries and impart values, the Torah contains many narratives which include episodes of, let us say, less than exemplary behaviors. During this class we will explore family narratives and relationships in the Book of Bereshit. We’re pretty sure your religious school didn’t focus your attention on these stories. Please bring a copy of the Torah with an English translation.

B’nai Israel will be providing a Thanksgiving meal for the women at the Interfaith Works Women’s Shelter and we need your help in supplying various parts of the meal. The meal items can be purchased or prepared in your home. There will be various options for drop off of your items. The meal items should serve 6 to 8 people and be in disposable pans.
