Have you ever climbed the Snake Path of Masada? Waded through the waters of Ein Gedi? Enjoyed a performance at the theater of Caesarea?
Join us for a fascinating talk revealing the incredible stories behind the preservation of Israel's natural and historical assets. Israeli tech, geopolitics, diplomacy, and even health solutions, are all intertwined in the efforts to protect one of the most important pieces of land in the world. This is your opportunity to discover what is being done to protect the places we all love, why they remain relevant today and for future generations, and how it impacts your life too!
INHFA supports the protection and conservation of Israel’s nature, landscapes, and heritage sites. Mr. Sivek will include representations from Israel and feature in his presentation both prominent as well as newly identified heritage sites. Co-sponsored by Sisterhood.
Recognized for his leadership as the INHFA Executive Director in Forbes 30 Under 30 list, marking Israel's 30 most promising young leaders, Matan's mission is to allow people from around the world to connect with and contribute to Israel's extraordinary historical and natural assets. Prior to serving as the Executive Director of the INHFA, Matan promoted coexistence and equality in Israel as the Advisor on Minorities Affairs to the Director General of the Ministry of Education. Social change was always intertwined in Matan's professional path, working as the Advisor to the Director General of the Authority for Development of the Bedouin Society. He holds a B.A from the 'Amirim' Program for Humanities and Economics and an MBA, both from the Hebrew University. Matan is an environment enthusiast, passionate about empowering people and communities, a dedicated yoga practitioner and serial language learner.

The Last Resort (1hr. 10 min.; English)
Before the arrival of Miami Vice and MTV Spring Break, South Beach was home to the largest cluster of Jewish retirees in the country. Drawn by the small apartments, low cost of living, sunny weather, and thriving cultural life, they came by the thousands seeking refuge from the Northeast's brutal winters. By the 1970s, these former New Yorkers had turned from seasonal visitors to year-round residents, making Miami Beach home to a population that was primarily over 70 and overwhelmingly Jewish. The Last Resort takes audiences on a journey to the iconic Miami Beach of that era.

For an ancient text intended to set boundaries and impart values, the Torah contains many narratives which include episodes of, let us say, less than exemplary behaviors. During this class we will explore family narratives and relationships in the Book of Bereshit. We’re pretty sure your religious school didn’t focus your attention on these stories. Please bring a copy of the Torah with an English translation.

Join us as Ilana Trachtman shares excerpts from her documentary film, Ain’t No Back to a Merry-Go Round. During the summer of 1960, two worlds collided on a picket line at segregated Glen Echo Amusement Park: idealistic black college students from Howard University, and white neighbors from Maryland’s Bannockburn community. Together, this unprecedented coalition took on the park owners, Jim Crow, the American Nazi Party, and the Supreme Court, and produced eight of the 1961 Freedom Riders.
