What Happens After You Die? Judaism and the Afterlife

Anxieties about death and dying dominate much of Jewish (and other religious) thought. This short course will explore traditional Jewish rituals surrounding death and dying, doctrines of resurrection and the afterlife, and Jewish conceptions of heaven and hell. Together, we will examine some of the Bible’s and Midrash’s stranger stories of the afterlife. We will also explore questions like why bad things happen to good people and any others you might ask.
