Mitzvah Day Red Cross Blood Drive
Wednesday, December 9, 2020 • 23 Kislev 5781
12:00 PM - 6:00 PMBlood Donation
The most common type of donation, during which approximately a pint of 'whole blood' is given. This type of donation usually takes about an hour. Almost any person 16 years or older is eligible to donate. Here are the eligibility requirements and pay particular attention the section concerning foreign travel here, Common Reasons People Can't Donate.
Power Red Donation
A Power Red donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements and have type A Neg, B Neg, or O blood.
COVID
Keeping ourselves and our families safe during COVID is of course on all of our minds and the Red Cross has developed safety guidelines which you can review here. During COVID and with respect to the cautions people are understandably taking, the need for blood is particularly acute.
