The Garden of Remembrance (Gan Zikaron) Memorial Park in Clarksburg, Maryland will hold its 20th Annual Memorial Services on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Annual visits to the graves of loved ones during the High Holy Day season is an ancient Jewish custom. Led by community clergy, the Garden of Remembrance invites families of those resting at Gan Zikaron to honor their loved ones and be inspired for the new year by rabbis and cantors from our Partner Congregations.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to 75 people in the Gazebo (weather permitting) on a first come, first served basis. Once filled, families will be invited to join through our live video stream at the memorial park, at the grave of loved ones, or from home.
Names of loved ones may be submitted by emailing info@gardenofremembrance.org or you may also fill out a form at https://www.gardenofremembrance.org/remember-your-loved-ones/.
The 10:00 AM Memorial Service is scheduled to be led by community clergy (not B'nai Israel).
The 2:00 PM Memorial Service is scheduled to be led by Rabbi Michael Safra and Cantor Josh Perlman from B’nai Israel Congregation, and Hazzan Henrique Ozur Bass from Congregation Har Shalom.
The Garden of Remembrance grounds will be open from 9:00 AM through 4:00 PM on September 13th for families and community clergy to visit individual gravesites and recite personal prayers.
