Israel’s borders with Lebanon and Syria are an area crucial to Israel’s survival. This series of three classes focuses on the history, people, and future of this area. Covering the establishment of the first settlements, kibbutzim and stresses created by development towns populated by Jewish refugees from Arab lands, we will also focus on war, terrorism, the nightmare rise of Hezbollah, and prospects for the future.

Cliff Sobin is a writer with a special interest in Israeli history. He is presently working on a book regarding the confrontation between Hezbollah and Israel and has already published two books about Israel. Cliff also has provided philanthropic assistance to Kibbutz Hanita, situated along Israel’s border with Lebanon, enhancing the lives of children with disabilities living there.
