JUFJ Workshop: Working for Equity during the COVID-19 Crisis with B'nai Israel Congregation and Ohr Kodesh Congregation
Wednesday, July 1, 2020 • 9 Tammuz 5780
7:30 PM - 9:00 PMCOVID-19 has worsened inequities that impact Black, brown, and poor people that have long existed in our area. Join B'nai Israel to hear about how the pandemic is impacting local communities, how Judaism guides us in responding to this crisis, and how you can get involved. The presentation will be led by staff and volunteers from Jews United for Justice, which has been working with partners, including ACLU, to advocate for specific actions by our county and state officials to ensure that the most vulnerable are not left further behind during the COVID-19 crisis. While the focus of this call is COVID-19 response work, in light of recent events, we will also briefly talk about JUFJ's work on policing and racial equity.
