FJMC Man of the Year Honoree Breakfast
Sunday, June 1, 2025 • 5 Sivan 5785
12:00 PM - 2:00 PMCongregation Olam Tikvah Fairfax, VAWe would like to congratulate Asher Gendelman, this year’s recipient of the B’nai Israel Men’s Club Blue Yarmulke award for his continuous spearheading of our yearly Sukkah program.
The Gendelman family have been B’nai Israel members since 1997 when moving to Rockville. Asher and Jill (B’nai Israel’s Librarian) have been married for 32 years and have three children: Moriah (Corey) granddaughter Sadie who live in DC; Jessy (Jenna) living in Las Vegas; and Eliana who made Aliyah in 2021 and lives in Tel Aviv.
Asher recently retired after spending more than 40 years in business development and marketing strategy addressing complex issues relating to healthcare, critical infrastructure, situational awareness and cyber security. Today, he volunteers for the Jewish Community Relations Council’s 2G Maggid program, sharing his parent’s holocaust survival stories at schools, churches and senior centers. Asher has been deeply involved in B’nai Israel’s Sukkah Program since it was conceived by Rabbi Safra in 2003, which has touched more than 150 community families.
