Men's Club: Hike Along the C&O Canal
Sunday, March 27, 2022 • 24 Adar II 5782
2:00 PM - 4:00 PMJoin members of the B'nai Israel Men's Club as we hike along the Wide Water section of the historic C&O Canal on Sunday, March 27. Eric Luftman will offer commentary as we start from the Angler's Footbridge walking west along one of the most scenic, geologically interesting and wildlife-rich sections of the canal as far as the Stop Gate, a 19th-century flood control feature, and returning via the "Berma Road" through the woods on the upper side of the canal.
The round trip walk is 2.5 miles and includes a set of stairs at the Stop Gate (which can be bypassed at ground level). We will gather at 1:45 pm at the parking area opposite the Old Anglers Inn, located at 10790 MacArthur Blvd in Potomac about 25 minutes from B'nai Israel.
Family and friends are welcome, as are pets on leash. There is no limitation on numbers, but please contact Eric Luftman (301-412-9251) to let us know that you are coming, and so that we can notify you if there are any last minute weather-related changes.
