12:30 PM – Lunch and Learn, Artificial Intelligence and Jewish Thought
Artificial intelligence has reached a critical breakthrough both in its abilities and its availability to the public. As the world grapples with this new technology, we will consider what Jewish thought has to offer the AI conversation and how AI will influence Jewish thought and practice in turn.
David Zvi Kalman is a scholar and entrepreneur who works at the intersection of religion, technology and ethics. Since 2019 he has served as Scholar in Residence and Director of New Media at the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America. He is the owner of Print-O-Craft Press and the KLMNOPS art house. He has been quoted in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, and his writing has appeared in many outlets, including Slate, the LA Times, JTA, Haaretz, Tablet, and the Forward. His work can be found at www.davidzvi.com and he blogs at Jello Menorah.
