7:30 PM - 9:00 PMB'nai Israel CongregationBrett Curtis shares how his work with SOME (So Others Might Eat) connects with his personal journey of Jewish faith.
Afterwards, we will assemble Emergency Hygiene Kits for SOME’s weekly guests at 71 O Street, N.W. SOME distributes these kits every day of the work week to individuals up to twice a month.
On May 11, please bring with you some of the following items:
Toothbrush
Toothpaste (4.8-6 oz.)
Soap (3.4-4 oz. bar)
2-in-1 Shampoo+Conditioner (12-15 oz.)
Q-Tips
Disposable Razors
Hand/Body Lotion (2-3 oz.)
Deodorant (2.5-3 oz.)
Plastic comb
Washcloth
Tampons
Menstrual pads
SOME (So Others Might Eat) is an interfaith organization that seeks to help those experiencing poverty and homelessness in our nation’s capital. SOME was founded in 1970 as a small soup kitchen. Over its 50-year history, SOME has expanded its services to include health care, addiction treatment, job training, and affordable housing. Each year, SOME serves over 30,000 clients through its comprehensive continuum of Emergency, Stability, and Rebuilding Programs.
