In B'nai Israel's Wise Aging group, we are guided through reflective work that helps us come to new understandings about our life, our self, and our values.

We will meet for seven sessions to learn, share experiences, and acquire skills for making changes in our lives that will lead to a more positive view of again and a deeper sense of well-being.  Adults of any age are welcome.  Sessions are led by Fran Zamore and based on resources developed for the Institute for Jewish Spirituality by Rabbi Rachel Cowan and Dr. Linda Thal.

Learning modes include text study, active listening, reflection, and journaling.

Topics include:

  • What is special about this stage of life
  • Life review
  • Nourishing healthy relationships
  • Practicing forgiveness
  • Leaving a legacy

Fran Zamore is a veteran social worker, mindfulness and meditation teacher and Wise Aging facilitator.  After over 30 years of experience as a clinical social worker/therapist on personal and spiritual growth and mind-body-spirit connection, Fran is now focusing on facilitating Wise Aging groups and leading Jewish mindfulness meditation.  Fran is the co-author of GriefWork - Healing from Loss, The GriefWork Companion - Activities for Healing and GriefWork for Teens.  Fran is a member of Adat Shalom, a longtime participant with the Institute for Jewish Spirituality, and is active with Jews United for Justice among other social justice organizations.

This 7-session series asks for participants to commit to attending all or as many sessions as possible to build group cohesion and foster a sense of community.  Please note only the first session is held on Monday, the remaining sessions will take place the second Tuesday of each month.

$50/person.  Space is limited; series is currently only open to B'nai Israel members.
