Youth & Teen Scholarships

B’nai Israel is invested in the future of our youth and are proud to financially support youth travel and summer trips.

Summer Camps

We support Camp Ramah summer programs at any Camp Ramah in the country, with special opportunities for first time campers and attendees of Camp Ramah in New England. Camp Ramah is the camping arm of Conservative Judaism.  B’nai Israel only provides camp scholarships for Camp Ramah camps, with the exception of Israel travel trips (see below) at any Jewish camp.

ramah dc Day Camp

The Kravitz Jewish Day Camp Fund supports Ramah Day Camp participants. This fund is available for all B'nai Israel member families.

  • First-time campers are eligible for scholarships up to 25% of the tuition.
  • Returning campers are eligible for scholarships of up to 10% of the tuition.
Camp Ramah in New England

The Rabbi Jeshaia and Hilde M. Schnitzer Israel and Camp Ramah Scholarship Endowment Fund supports campers at all Ramah overnight camps.

  • First-time campers attending a 4 week or longer session are eligible for scholarships up to 50% of the tuition. Campers attending Mini-Kochavim (2 week session) are eligible for up to $1000.
  • Second-time campers attending a 4 week or longer session are eligible for scholarships up to $1000.
  • Returning campers attending a 4 week or longer session are eligible for scholarships up to $500.
Other ramah Camps

The Marie Lebowitz Camp Ramah Scholarship Fund and the Bruce R. Saypol Camp Ramah Scholarship Fund provide support for campers attending all other Camp Ramah overnight camps. 

  • First-time campers attending a 4 week or longer session are eligible for scholarships up to $1000. 
  • Returning campers attending a 4 week or longer session are eligible for scholarships up to $500.
Israel Trips

We are dedicated to sending our teens to Israel on organized trips through youth movements or summer camps. 

B’nai Israel’s scholarships support (but are not limited to):

  •  Academic programs, such as Alexander Muss High School in Israel.
  • Summer travel through youth movements, such as BBYO Passport programs, Young Judaea Gesher, and Habonim Dror Yallah!
  • Camp trips, including Capital Camps LIT (11th grade), Perlman Camp, and Camp Micah in Israel.
  • The CESJDS 12th grade Israel trips.

Our application has a dedicated section for Israel travel for teens. 

Notification

Scholarship recipients will be informed of their scholarship 2–4 weeks after submitting the application. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Lily Pollack, Youth Coordinator.
