Monthly Meal Delivery to Interfaith Works Shelters
Each month B'nai Israel provides a meal to the residents of one of the Interfaith Works Shelters. Each month, there is a signup and volunteers sign up to provide some of the items needed for the meal. Items can be either be "home made" or purchased and delivered to one of the various drop off locations. Check under upcoming events for the most current Shelter delivery.

Shelter Thanksgiving Dinner Delivery
Thursday, Nov 28th 5:30p to 6:00pB’nai Israel will be providing Thanksgiving dinner for the 35 residents of the Interfaith Works Women’s Shelter. We need your help in supplying various parts of the meal.
Bagels & Banter: Homes Not Borders
Sunday, Dec 8th 10:00a to 12:00pHomes Not Borders is to provide refugees and other forced migrants in the D.C. area with what they need to thrive and feel at home in the United States. Homes Not Borders provides furnishings and household items and other special touches that help make a house a home. They offer a way for those that have an artisan skill (or are willing to learn!) to earn supplemental income. Their storytelling program gives newcomers a voice and platform to tell their personal stories. Registration is required.
Mitzvah Day
Sunday, Dec 15th 10:00a to 12:00pStart this special day of tikkun olam (repairing the world) with morning minyan at 9:00 AM. Special projects and collection drives begin at 10:00 AM.

B’nai Israel’s Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Build Team
Monday, Jan 20th 10:00a to 3:00pJoin us for a day of service! B’nai Israel is putting together a Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Build Team to be part of the Bender JCC’s MLK Day of Service and Solidarity on January 20. For this special project, The Bender JCC and Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland are leading an interfaith community-wide playhouse build.
