cheryl stone
ASSistant RABBI/chief education officer
Rabbi Cheryl Stone moved to Rockville with her husband and daughter to join the clergy team at B’nai Israel Congregation in July 2022. Rabbi Stone brings a rich and diverse background to her role, having received her ordination from the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies. She also holds a Master of Jewish Education from Hebrew College and a Certificate in Advanced Jewish Studies from the Pardes Institute in Jerusalem.
Before embracing her calling as a Jewish professional, Rabbi Stone earned a B.F.A. in Design and Technical Theatre from Florida State University and spent several years in the vibrant world of professional theater. As a small business owner, she built a community among women artists, producing semi-annual exhibitions that showcased their talents. A skilled artist herself, Rabbi Stone has used her talents across various mediums to engage and inspire learners of all ages.
Now at B’nai Israel, she is channeling her diverse expertise into building a dynamic and engaging education department alongside her dedicated team.
