Teen Civil Rights Journey
The Civil Rights Journey is one in which your participants will become empowered and inspired to come back home and get involved by realizing they currently have power to make a difference. They will meet with Reverends who worked and strategized with Dr. King as well as people who participated in the march from Selma to Montgomery. These are primary sources. Each of our speakers ensures your participants understand that they can make a difference today. We will also discuss Jewish involvement in the Movement and how our Passover story correlates so strongly with the Civil Rights story.

By visiting the Equal Justice Initiative, we help your participants understand that Civil Rights is not an issue that only impacted a specific people in the 1950s & 60s but is an ongoing issue today and being fought for by a variety of groups that have not felt they had a voice in the world.

Trip Highlights will include:

  • Church Services at Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia
  • Equal Justice Initiative’s Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama
  • Equal Justice Initiative’s Memorial to Peace & Justice in Montgomery, Alabama
  • Rosa Parks Museum in Montgomery, Alabama
  • Tour of Selma, Alabama & Walk across the Edmund Pettus Bridge
  • Walking tour of Freedom Park & 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama
