Wedding

Mazal Tov on your forthcoming marriage. The Jewish wedding is a sacred community event. There are many opportunities to customize the ritual to make it most meaningful for you—with the primary commandment being to bring joy to the bride and groom.

We are delighted that you are considering B’nai Israel as a venue for your celebration. We are very proud of our beautiful sanctuary, chapels, social halls, and garden areas. Our staff works tirelessly to ensure that every simcha is a memorable event. Our rabbis and cantors are eager to officiate at weddings for B’nai Israel members. More than speaking under the huppah, we meet with couples to help them understand the dynamics of the Jewish wedding and to begin to explore challenges and opportunities of married life. Nonmembers are also invited to rent our facility. We ask that your rabbi and cantor be in touch with Rabbi Safra and Cantor Perlman in advance.

If you have any questions or would like a personal tour of our buildings and grounds, please do not hesitate to contact me.

B’nai Israel has two huppot available for weddings. A stationary huppah with cover (metal poles, gold-colored velvet cover) and a fine arts huppah which fits only on the center bima of Dweck Sanctuary. Please contact Patricia Simitakos for an appointment to view the huppot.

Your first step when planning your wedding at B’nai Israel is to call the synagogue. Let the synagogue know that you have become engaged so we can properly recognize you in our monthly newsletter, the Scroll!

Next, you will begin the process of selecting a date and confirming the availability of clergy.
