This October 7th, join thousands from across the Jewish community in Washington, DC to commemorate one year since our world changed forever. Gather with us in grief, solace, and healing for an evening hosted by The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, the Jewish Community Relations Council, and Washington Board of Rabbis. B'nai Israel is a proud co-sponsor of this event. We are suggesting that people take Metro but are looking into organizing a bus for people for whom the walk from Metro (approximately ½ mile) would be too much. More information will follow.

Come together with other like-minded individuals for a morning of crafting and schmoozing. Bring whatever project you are currently working on (knitting, crocheting, needlepointing, drawing, scrapbooking, origami, or other creative technique). “Is this not the fast I have chosen… to share your bread with the hungry?” (Isaiah 58:6–7) Help us to feed those in need this holiday season. Bring non-perishable items to B’nai Israel on Wednesday, September 15 from 12:00–6:00 PM (or bring it with you to Kol Nidre services) to help those who deal with hunger and food insecurity. This special annual project is run by our Youth Department with hopes to collect as much as we can every year. The items we collect are donated to Manna Food Center to help the people of Montgomery County.
